Nerezisca

Nerežišća is a little town located on the crossroads of the main island roads, near the largest field on Brač. This small picturesque town was for a long time the administrative and economic center of the island. The little Church of Our Lady of Karmel dominates the place, and around it, we can see a lot of old stone houses build with rich ornaments, narrow streets, and town squares that contribute to this little town’s charm and classic Dalmatian ambiance.

One of the most photographed images in Nerezisca is this pine tree. His fame came from the fact that he is growing on the small stone church building roof. The church’s roof and its build enabled the tree to make a foundation and start growing. It is a scenery not seen very often.
